Passport Fees

A United States citizen, over the age of 16, applying for a passport for the first time has these fees to pay upon applying for a passport:

  • $110 for the passport book,
  • $30 for the passport card,
  • If you have neither of the above you will have to pay for both for $140,
  • But regardless of what part of the document you will need you will have to pay a $25 execution fee.

If you are over the age of 16 and you are simply applying for renewal the fees are:

  • $110 for the passport book,
  • $30 for the passport card,
  • Or, $140 for the card and book.

If you are under 16 years of age you will have to pay these fees:

  • Regardless of what parts of the document you need you will have to pay a $25 execution fee.
  • A passport book for a minor is $80,
  • A passport card for a minor is $15,
  • Together they cost $95.

If you would like to have your request for a passport to be expedited you will need to pay an additional $60 fee for every passport application you submit.

It is also probably a good idea to pay for the overnight delivery fee so that you can get your passport as soon as possible. This fee is $12.72 and is subject in change to postage costs.

Keep in mind that if the state department made a mistake while printing out your passport you may send it in for correction with a DS-5504 form for no cost.
