Of the hundreds of thousands of people who apply for the Green Card Lottery there are many whose applications will be rejected because of errors or incorrect information. USAGreenCardLottery.org ensures that your application will be properly filed and that you will be entered into the lottery which will take place in early May of 2013.

Green cards, also known as permanent resident cards, are immigration documents granted to immigrants who are permanently allowed to live and work in the United States.

The Green Card Lottery is a yearly program which allots approximately 50,000 green cards to immigrants from countries which traditionally do not send many immigrants to America’s shore. In this way it is often referred to as a diversity visa because it encourages cultural diversity in an immigration system that often grants permanent residence to people with rather specific qualifications.

Compared to other green card programs the Green Card Lottery has relatively few requirements. One of which is that one must be from an eligible country. The other is that you have to have graduated from high school or have worked for two years at a job that required two years of training.

Registration for the Green Card Lottery only occurs once a year and only for one month. This year applicants will be registering for the DV-2014.  The registration period begins at noon Eastern Daylight Time October 2, 2012, and ends at noon Eastern Daylight Time November 3, 2012.
